Events: VinoFest 2015

on May 20, 2015

VinoFest is only two years old going on 30 which I am realize as I draw closer is the age of awesome!!! In it's second year, VinoFest is the ultimate wine and music party and a great way to spend a Saturday.  We got to enjoy live food, a flavorful array of foods and great wines from 25+ vineyards around the world!

If a great wine selection isn't enough of an enticement to attend there was also interactive Games sponsored by United Social Sports.  Who doesn't love cames!

Thanks to new laws in DC, there was even a place to get your cannabis card if you so desire. Since it's an all day festival with lots of wine, you gotta have some food!! So there was a great selection of local food truck favorites like The Lobster Truck, snacks from Slate Wine Bar and Dirty South Deli to name a few.

If that isn't enough for you, I understand because it wouldn't be a festival without some music!! So there was plenty of music.  The music selection was an engaging mix of local and national artists that kept us dancing all day and well into the night.  Acts include White Ford Bronco, Trouble Funk, DJ Neekola (who we love!), Black Masala, Alison Carney (a rockstar local who always puts on a great show!), DJ Adrian Loving (another DJ fav) and of course Questlove who was the official DJ of VinoFest & a favorite of us all.

What makes a day of drinking, eating, dancing and more even greater?!?! When it's for a good cause and VinoFest benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation Mid-Atlantic, DC Central Kitchen, and Networking for Teaching Entrepreneurship.  VinoFest was brought to us by VinoLovers, a matching making wine service.  Sounds like a great idea to me!!  From what I've seen so far, I trust VinoLovers to match me with a great wine faster than I trust any other matchmaker.  So check out VinoLovers and make sure to be at the next VinoFest.  Like all newborns, it'll be walking before we all know it and we will say we remember when it all began at Union Market in 2014!!
