Pillow Talk at Blo Blow Dry Bar

There is nothing better than getting a little blow out treat on your special day, right? Right! So when I was surprised last Wednesday (my birthday) with an appointment at Blo Blow Dry Bar I knew it was going to be a great day! There is NOTHING I dread more than doing my own hair - no seriously - nothing! Yes sure, I do it, and I've gotten used to doing it after all these years - I think I first learned how to blow dry my own hair around 18 maybe. But still til this day, it's not something I look forward to even with great new products and great blowdryers. So having places that will do your blow out for you while you're sipping on champagne is my ultimate dream! When I arrived at Blo I was greeted and escorted to pick out my hair style from a hair menu which had adorable illustrations. I had such a hard time picking what I wanted, everything seemed like the style I needed to have that very minute but after some serious deliberation over a glass of champagne, I went with the "pillow talk" aka a messy curl / beachy style that I have always loved! Jose was my stylist and he was super sweet and fun. We chatted about our connection to Venezuela and time in the chair just flew by so quickly. The end result is what you see in the photos - not quite that messy - but absolutely beautiful curls that made my hair look super shiny and healthy (not something that I can do on my own for some reason -- must learn the tricks!) Finally, Blo's branding and fun little quotes + pink colors just made everything even more enjoyable! If you're in the market for a great Blow out bar, this is the place. I can't wait to be back. SCDC Events: Blo Blow Dry Bar Launch Event

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Blo Blow Dry Bar launch event in Dupont.  The owner Maha Sharma was in attendance along with host TV personalty and fashion designer Whitney Port and both of them looked AMAZNG!!

When I arrived I was happy to see some wonderful familiar faces!!

Carla Sanchez enjoying the Veuve Clicquot Rose Champagne with Tammy Preston of A Loyal Love, Sara Azani of Style MBA and Natalie Pinto of The Fashionably Broke!! Around 100 fashionisa from around town were in attendance to support the opening and dancing to the tunes of DJ Biks!!

The concept of Blo was prominently displayed and I understand what they mean.

Sometimes you just need a wash and blow dry to get you through between hair appointments.  Blo is North America's original blow dry bar that began back in 2007.  Scissors and dyes will not be found at Blo because no cuts or color is allowed.

Just Wash Blow and Go with on of the 7 styles featured on the menu from the sexy razor-straight “Executive Sweet” to the inner femme-inspired curly “Holly Would”.  All the menus are these adorable pink books that explain everything you need to know about Blo!

Which makes it easy to pick out a style like these beautiful waves getting checked out by Nicole of Worn Creative.

And her KILLER shoes!!  The event also kicked off a week-long partnership with the Washington Humane Society. From March 22 to March 29, the bar will donate 25% of proceeds from every service to the charity.
