How do you guys like my bright neon outfit lol??? I def got lots of stares as I walked down the streets of Annapolis, but what do they expect when SpicyCandyDC is in town? I've also been dying to wear this skirt for a long time -- I absolutely love the mesh fabric at the bottom...it gives it a classy yet sexy look.  You can also tuck it in if you just want to wear it as a plain short skirt so it's definitely very versatile.

I think this little white ensemble is my way to start mentally preparing myself for the fact that summer is almost over...so I'm trying to wear as much white as possible, b/c let's face it...the rich fabrics and colors of the fall will be upon us before you know it.  Sigh....

PS: We took this day trip to Annapolis yesterday to attend the grand opening of Hobo's first flagship store in their hometown of Annapolis.  It was a wonderful event...our recap and Hobo picks for the fall will follow tomorrow.  Happy Friday dolls!

I'm such a sucker for blouses (especially when you find one in such a fun, floral print and only for $29.99 at Zara --> score!) so of course I had to add this to my on-going collection. But since it's still pretty warm out, I wore it with my "go-to" Levis shorts and my new fav neon purse. Casual, easy, fun!

I've been looking for a romantic lace blouse for a while now (lace is especially pretty in soft pastels, mints or pinks) so I was excited to finally find this one in soft pink. I love how flattering it is. If you know my style, you know that I usually stay away from extremely fitted garments,  not because I don't look good in them, but mostly because I like to eat and fitted clothes don't allow as much room to be comfortable after a nice, healthy meal lol!  Anywho, decided to wear it with my tan skirt. It's a bit short and def not one to wear during windy days but if you do, make sure you have little tight shorts underneath -- I learned the hard way after embarrassing my self a few times ;)

I got this army green blouse yesterday at the newly opened Savers thrift store along with a pair of JBrand jeans for (drum roll please .... $5.99 no joke) as well as a few other fun things for the home and even my dad scored a pair of Levis shorts ... who knew Papa liked to thrift? That's what he gets on our father/daughter date lol! Truthfully the blouse is like 3 sizes too big on me, but I really like its relaxed feel and the fact that I can comfortably tie it in the front.  So when you're paying $3 for a piece of clothing, a few size difference really doesn't matter much, and the great thing is that you're more open to experiment with that item -- another advantage of thrifting!

On another note, Carlis and I finally have a few fun events we'll be attending tonight and are super excited for our much needed "reunion" ... who knows, we may even be able to finally do an outfit post together ... lol. Our crazy busy lives have kept us apart lately (insert sad face here) but we're definitely looking forward to a fun quality night out together! Stay tuned for our recap of the events. What do you wear in 104 degree weather that pretty much feels like you stepped out into inferno?  Probably nothing if you can get away with it, but since walking around naked isn't really a fashion statement, I went with this light, colorful look yesterday, and let me tell you, it still felt like I was way overdressed for that kind of heat! Staying hydrated and wearing short shorts is definitely key in this kind of summer heat ;)

If you are following us on twitter you can prob remember my excitement at Zara's recent Sale! It was hard not to get everything in the store but I some how managed to walk out of there with a few key basic pieces, the above outfit is prob one of my favorite, very comfy and one you can dress up or down, I later wore this outfit w my little black flats to enjoy a hot evening in Old Town.

I was originally going to wear a white blazer with this outfit but after my thrifting trip to Goodwill earlier that day, I found this blue beauty! I love how light it is, and it has short sleeves so its perfect for the summer.  When I tried it on with these shoes, I really loved the comno of neon green and blue so I opted to wear this jacket instead.  BTW, be ready for me to wear these sandals a lot this summer, but can you blame me? I mean just look at them hahaha!

I am completely obsessed with my new necklace and bracelets from Pearl.Love, so figured to pile them all on yesterday with this simple tunic.  Our favorite styles of the brand are their friendship bracelets.  They are so fun, come in all kinds of pastel colors, and are a great addition to our arm party!  In fact, I like their stuff so much, I will begin carrying it in my store sometime mid month :)  To learn more about their fantastic brand and the two sisters behind it, click HERE.  On a side note, a lot of you have asked me how I manage to keep these crazy curls of mine looking this way.  It's actually quite easy since my natural hair is super wild and curly lol.  To keep it tamed and bouncy, I use Garnier Fructis curl sculpting cream-gel on wet hair and let it air dry.  If it's an extra humid day and I'm starting to look like a wild lion, I take a few strands of hair and style them with the rod curling iron ... easy as pie! (note:  do NOT curl all of your hair, just a few strands here and there, because you will end up looking like curly sue -- not a cute or stylish look in my opinion lol).

PS: These outfits were worn last night to the LPM Grand Opening party at their new and fabulous showroom!  I mean talk about a sick space, an awesome selection of vintage and reconstructed pieces (I took home a hot pair of green high wasted shorts that I can not wait to style), and a fun atmosphere were you are free to shop, try things on, and just hang out with the marmoset herself :) We had a wonderful time at the party -- it was definitely the place to be last night.  These girls sure know how to throw a party and attract DC's best dressed!  We couldn't be more proud of their success and growth and are excited to see what's ahead.  What's in the near future? I was finally able to do a post wearing my favorite pair of new heels! I seriously stalked Zara's site to get them in my size, and it was definitely a fashion heaven moment when I pressed that "ADD TO BASKET" button. lol ;)  Anyway, sorry for the lack of outfit posts lately, we will be back to regular programming soon!  As you can imagine, we have been insanely busy these past few months, so a little break was much needed.  Even the spicy bloggers need time to re-energize, re-group, and re-focus!!!

As you know, I'm a sucker for colored, printed, and well....any kind of denim really.  So needless to say I am totally loving this leopard printed pair.  If you haven't tried Indigo Rein jeans yet, you definitely should.  They fit amazingly well, come in a lot of fun colors and styles, and best part...they are incredibly affordable! :)  I figured to pair up this busy print with a simple mint cropped top and jacket since the weather around here can't make up its mind ... one min it's 80 the next (literally) it's 60 -- definitely a sure way to get sick :(

On a side note, Carlis and I are getting ready for a weekend trip to Charlottesville to celebrate the wedding of our dear friend and creative mastermind behind SpicyCandyDC logo, blog look, and portfolio -- the talented Mike Matera of Simplxity!  It will be a weekend of wine tasting, fun in the sun, dancing, eating, and enjoying some Barn Chic fashion -- yea you heard right, we said barn chic! haha.  Don't worry, we'll make sure to keep you up-to-date via Instagram so you too can see what we mean by barn chic :) Oh and if you're not yet following our insta, find us @spicycandydc.
