It's finally HERE! the LPM Fall lookbook ;) I had the pleasure of working with the amazing girls of LPM again, it is always an adventure to put these lookbooks together but I would not have it any other way! when Katherine & Ashley told me about the concept they were going for, I screamed of excitement as Dia De Los Muertos has always been one of my fav themes. I find it mysterious, scary and kind of melancholic at the same time. These are my favorite photos, to check out the entire lookbook please visit the LPM blog HERE!
With every amazing lookbook comes an amazing video! to check out the magic Caroline Lacey created, go HERE!

Pearl.Love friendship bracelets we are #obsessed
Blazer: Vintage similar HERE
Leather pants: South Moon Under similar HERE
Purse: Kenneth Cole similar HERE
Sandals: Zara
Bracelets:  Gifted Pearl.Love
I was originally going to wear a white blazer with this outfit but after my thrifting trip to Goodwill earlier that day, I found this blue beauty! I love how light it is, and it has short sleeves so its perfect for the summer.  When I tried it on with these shoes, I really loved the comno of neon green and blue so I opted to wear this jacket instead.  BTW, be ready for me to wear these sandals a lot this summer, but can you blame me? I mean just look at them hahaha!

Pearl necklace & bracelets:  Gifted Pearl.Love
Red string bracelets:  She's Unique
Lippie:  YSL #17
I am completely obsessed with my new necklace and bracelets from Pearl.Love, so figured to pile them all on yesterday with this simple tunic.  Our favorite styles of the brand are their friendship bracelets.  They are so fun, come in all kinds of pastel colors, and are a great addition to our arm party!  In fact, I like their stuff so much, I will begin carrying it in my store sometime mid month :)  To learn more about their fantastic brand and the two sisters behind it, click HERE.  On a side note, a lot of you have asked me how I manage to keep these crazy curls of mine looking this way.  It's actually quite easy since my natural hair is super wild and curly lol.  To keep it tamed and bouncy, I use Garnier Fructis curl sculpting cream-gel on wet hair and let it air dry.  If it's an extra humid day and I'm starting to look like a wild lion, I take a few strands of hair and style them with the rod curling iron ... easy as pie! (note:  do NOT curl all of your hair, just a few strands here and there, because you will end up looking like curly sue -- not a cute or stylish look in my opinion lol).

PS: These outfits were worn last night to the LPM Grand Opening party at their new and fabulous showroom!  I mean talk about a sick space, an awesome selection of vintage and reconstructed pieces (I took home a hot pair of green high wasted shorts that I can not wait to style), and a fun atmosphere were you are free to shop, try things on, and just hang out with the marmoset herself :) We had a wonderful time at the party -- it was definitely the place to be last night.  These girls sure know how to throw a party and attract DC's best dressed!  We couldn't be more proud of their success and growth and are excited to see what's ahead.  What's in the near future? Another fun summer lookbook being shot this weekend.  Stay tuned for all the behind the scenes fun via our instagram @spicycandydc

Skirt:  Reconstructed LPM Vintage
Blazer:  LPM Vintage
Shoes:  Kimchi Blue via Urban Outfitters
Belt & Purse:  Vintage
Sunnies:  Karen Walker

We were so happy to have LPM Vintage "sponsor" our looks for the anniversary brunch.  I absolutely love Katherine's redesign pieces, and this skirt won me over right away.  I love that its fun and flirty + the color is amazing.  Even though it's more on a spring side, I decided to wear it anyway by pairing it up with this stunning blazer (a carefully curated item that is also from Katherine's collection).  I can't wait to style this skirt again in the spring. Trench: Gap
Mini: LPM Vintage
Leather Jacket: Forever21
Sunnies: H&M
Scarf: Gifted
I got this pretty little Mini skirt from LPM Vintage the night before and was originally going to wear it with a teal Dior vintage blazer (also from LPM), but when I woke up I felt like going for a more casual look (it was brunch after all) so I decided to layer my favorite leather jacket and trench coat together. I was also happy that the skirt looked good with black leggings. Despite the weather not being 20 degrees, it was still way too cold to be out with bare legs, at least for me! Much props to the girls who aren't afraid of some cold wind lol. C-

Here is a better look at what we wore at our anniversary brunch party.  Everyone kept saying "happy b-day" to us all day lol.  It def feels great to know that we now have TWO birthdays per year each -- another blogger perk to add to the list!  :)

LPM Holiday Lookbook Extras

Here are a few more photos that Marshall captured at one of the four locations where we shot the lookbook - Little Miss Whiskey's Golden Dollar.  As we mentioned in our previous post, we absolutely fell in love with this place when we first discovered it months ago and knew it had to be one of the locations for this project.  You gotta love a bar with purple walls, cool decor, and a VIP area that makes you feel like a rockstar.

Also, some of you have asked us how long the shoot took and the answer is one day.  We shot at four locations with four wardrobe changes and a team of 13 (excluding the wonderful hair and makeup team of The W Salon who helped us get the models ready before we began shooting).  It was definitely challenging but we pulled it off because we worked as a team doing something we all love!!!

Happy Hump Day lovelies, and we hope to see you all on Thursday at Violet Boutique and the after party will be at (you guessed it)  Little Miss Whiskey's Golden Dollar.

LPM Holiday Lookbook 2011

on Dec 5, 2011
We have to be honest, it's a little difficult to find the perfect words to describe the feeling of pride we feel while posting these images of the LPM Holiday Lookbook without sounding a little too emotional or overwhelmingly excited.  And a big part of us just wants to skip this whole write-up part all together and go straight to the photos so that we could get lost in the story all over again as we did the day we worked on this shoot.  So if you also feel the desire to do just that, no hard feelings here, we totally understand (and encourage it), but for those of you who are interested in finding out how this whole project came to be in the first place, it went a little something like this...

After Carlis and I shot the first LPM lookbook with Katherine over a month ago, we knew we had to work together again, but this time we wanted to do something bigger.... much, much bigger.  So when Katherine approached us about doing an LPM Holiday Lookbook in the H Street area (an up-and-coming vintage brand featured in an up-and-coming DC neighborhood) we knew we had to be part of it.  Carlis and I have had the idea of shooting on location at Little Miss Whiskey's ever since we discovered its mysterious purple walls and incredibly intoxicating vibe a little less than a year ago, so when we learned of Katherine's H street Country Club vision of "models playing mini golf in 4 inch heels wearing fancy LPM vintage pieces", we knew our creative concept was a match made in heaven.  We combined our visions to create one killer concept, and next thing we knew, we had an incredible team of talented and creative people come together to make this vision a reality.

We want to extend a huge 'thank you' to our stunning models, team of bloggers/stylists, videographers, photographers, and everyone else who made this project a huge success.  We also want to personally thank Marshall of TPWP for taking the role of lead photographer and capturing the essence of this lookbook so effortlessly and so perfectly.  It is a dream come true to have this vision we've had in our minds for so long made into a real and tangible product.  We are true believers that these types of collaborations will continue to grow our community because together we are a million times stronger than we could ever be on our own.  So let's continue to learn from each other while working on bringing the much deserved recognition to our DC fashion and creative community... one lookbook, designer, event, collaboration at at time." :)
