Events: Amaluna Show + Giveaway

On August 10th, I had the opportunity to attend the latest Cirque du Soleil show, Amaluna at the National Harbor. I could not think of a better person to go with other than our wonderful food and travel contributor, Jessica of Adventures of the Repatriate. We both had a great experience under the iconic blue and yellow tent of the Cirque du Soliel. During the two hour length of the show, we saw over one hundred and thirty beautifully designed costumes. We were entranced by the peacock feathers, shimmery fabrics, water acrobatics and colorful characters swinging from the trapeze.
"Amaluna is a fusion of the words ama, which refers to “mother” in many languages, and luna, which means “moon”; a symbol of femininity that evokes both the mother-daughter relationship and the idea of goddess and protector of the planet. Amaluna is also the name of the mysterious island where this magical story unfolds". Giveaway: A Fun Girls Night Out at Rio Washingtonian!

Last month Rio Washingtonian treated us to a girls night out package and of course we were more than thrilled to spend a Friday night doing all the things we love to do most - shopping and eating.. duh! The fabulous package included gift cards to shop at South Moon Under and Imagine Boutique, dinner for two at Copper Canyon, a live concert during their lake front live event, and flights of wine at FineWine.com. Of course we had to start our evening with shopping so we headed straight to South Moon Under. It was our first time to this location and we were pleasantly surprised by all the great merchandise they carry - remember this insta post? I mean that's like the perfect T isn't it? Unfortunately we didn't make it to our next shopping destination (Imagine boutique) because we weren't aware of the center's shopping hours, but we plan to go back soon to check it out. Dinner at Copper Canyon was delicious! Seriously best salads we've had in a long time - probably mainly due to that delicious rotisserie chicken they put on them (mouth is watering as we speak). We enjoyed the live concert for a few minutes before heading to Finewine.com to get our flights on -- oh and can we say that this wine bar/store is truly a fine establishment. It's been a while since we've had the pleasure to learn so much about wine in such a short period of time - and the selection was absolutely incredible! Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just starting to learn about wines, their staff will help you pick the best bottle for a great price (*confession - we did see a $500 bottle on the shelf and still wondering what that would taste like .. hummm a girl can dream!). Hello Perfect Fall dress + T.J. Maxx/HomeGoods Giveaway!

A few days ago I had the chance to attend the HomeGoods and T.J.Maxx blogger preview party hosted by my beautiful friend Sara of High Fashion 4 Less. It was so much fun to have the store opened just for us with endless shopping possibilities. They were also kind enough to gift us all with a gift card which I did not waste time to put to use! Violet Boutique 2012 Summer Lookbook Video + Giveaway

Along with great photos of this lookbook, Marshall of  TPWP also put together this seriously awesome lookbook video -- it is now hands down one of our favorites!  He perfectly captured the summer feel we had in mind when conceptualizing this lookbook.
